  1. Click on the 3 horizontal lines in the top right of the opening page select login (one needs to have an active user account with a valid email )
  2. Click on the downward arrow under your name and click My Member's Area
  3. Type "Library" in the grey box at the top right, then click on Welcome and read the Introduction.

History of CPS-ECP

  • Started in Windsor, Ont. in 1938  Lighthouse in Windsor, Ontario
  • Offshoot from USPS Squadron in Detroit
  • Incorporated in 1947
  • Originally Canadian Power Squadrons, hence CPS
  • Changed name to Canadian Power and Sail Squadrons in 1985
  • Re-incorporated 2014 – Canada Not For Profit (NFP) Act
  • Rebranded to be CanBoat/NautiSavoir in 2024

Membership

Qualifications for Membership - ( By-laws 2.02 p. 4)

An individual who:

  • has successfully completed a course prescribed by the Board; or
  • holds a valid Pleasure Craft Operator Certificate (PCOC)

may apply to become a Member of the Corporation and shall become a Member upon admission by the Board and payment of the annual dues in accordance with Section 3.01 of these By-laws.

Each Member in good standing shall be entitled to notice of, attend, participate and vote at all Meetings of Members.

For purposes of these By-laws, “good standing” means a Member who is not in default of paying his or her annual dues and whose membership has not been suspended pursuant to Section 3.05 of these By-laws.

Each Member shall have one (1) vote at Meetings of Members.

Organization/Levels of Governance


  • Members are organized into Squadrons
  • Squadrons are organized into Districts
  • Districts plus a "National District" constitute the National organization
