District Executive Officer (DXO)

Assists District Commander in the discharge of all duties
Performs all duties of the District Commander, in the Commander’s absence
Coordinates or chairs committees, as required
Natural progression into Commander role

While not one of the five must have positions, keep in mind that the fewer the number of officers on the Executive Committee, then the fewer that you have, to draw from when succession planning.
